Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who is behind The Presenter Centre?

A: The Presenter Centre is run by  Presenter Promotions who has 20+ years of experience of the UK industry supplying help to new and up and coming presenters. We offer an extensive range of services specifically aimed at helping you find work in this high competition industry.

Q: Is The Presenter Centre a reliable and a reputable company to use?

A: Yes, as a team we offer 20+ years plus experience, and in that time we have seen unknown artists become house-hold names. The Presenters Centre is a comprehensive resource for newcomers and established artists alike.

Q: Who is The Presenters Centre aimed at?

A: Both the artist and the production team. Anyone who is currently working (or wants to work) in TV, Radio or the associated industries. For the artist, it gives you a platform to show your talents and for the Production Companies, a way to find the talent they are looking for.

Q: How does The Presenter Centre compare to similar websites?

A: Unlike other websites out there, we differ in the fact that we actually care about YOU. We audition your showreel, suggest changes if needed, and help sell your talent. One of the main reasons for this is we want casting personnel to see high quality promotional material, not sub-standard wannabe types, who are instantly rejected by production personnel. As an artist we want you to progress with your career, and as a producer or director we want to help you find the exact talent that suits your production.

Q: Can The Presenter Centre help me find a job?

A: Yes, that's what it's intended to do, to make the industry more aware of you and your talents. If you are looking for job vacancies Presenter Promotions Presenter Club members get a weekly job sheet with lots of job vacancies, castings and auditions.

Q: So, are you an agency then?

A: No, we do not represent individual artists or take any commissions from any work you do. We offer this service to help get you noticed by the producers and production personnel who view the database. ALL the money you earn from any work found through appearing on The Presenter Centre is yours.

Q: Who uses The Presenter Centre?

A: As it's on the world wide web, its available to national broadcasters like the BBC, ITV, Channels 4 and five, both TV and Radio as well as the digital networks like Sky TV, and absolutely hundreds of independent production companies working in video and audio too.

Q: Do I need any special qualifications to work in the industry?

A: Well, talent, enthusiasm and a desire to succeed are of paramount importance, although for arguments sake if you wanted to present a documentary series about engineering for example, you would need to know your stuff. It's mainly common sense really.

Q: Do I need to be a member of Equity?

A: Most presenting jobs do not require an equity card, however it is still regarded by many to be a proof of commitment and professionalism, and if you are a member you can often negotiate a better rate of pay than a non-Equity member.

Q: Are there any conditions?

A: Anyone can use our services, as long as you are 16 or over and have all the relevant materials needed to up-load onto the site. All videos, text and photos will be confirmed as suitable for the site before it is uploaded. There is a full list of our terms and conditions here.

Q: I want to be famous, will you help me?

A: There is no real short cut to being famous and to be honest if that's all you want then you are likely to get a frosty reception wherever you go. All good presenters and voice artists will agree that the fame thing is just an added bonus to doing the job that they enjoy. Although, there are many people who would agree that there is a lot of celebrity status connected with being a Presenter.
